Rooms

We currently have designated and designed colourful rooms for children to learn and play. These are beautifully decorated and full of toys and equipment to cater for a place of fun and enjoyment whilst the children are at Our Kids Nursery.

Baby room

Our white room caters for babies under the age of 18 months. There is a fully equipped playroom and each child has a separate individual bed with lining provided.

We offer a variety of activities which include painting, gluing, water play, and sand play, story time and singing nursery rhymes.

Blue Room

Blue room is joined with the baby room; the room has a divider that allows the children and staff to communicate between each room. At the age of approximately, 18 months, the children move from the baby room into the blue room.

As the child reaches this group their day in nursery will become more structured.
If your child requires sleep during the day we have a quiet sleep area that your
child can sleep or rest in, we also have an area where your child can look at books or listen to soft music.

When you feel your child is ready for Potty training we will happily encourage them. We do ask that you provide plenty of spare clothes for when ‘accidents’ happen.

Green Room

At the age of approximately, 3 years old, the children move from the Blue room into the Green Room. These children will follow curriculum focusing on the seven key areas and 17 learning goals.

  • Personal, Social & Emotional Development
  • Mathematical Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Literacy
  • Physical Development
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive arts and design

Sensory room

Our sensory room has been created to stimulate, calm and develop children personal skills regardless of age or ability. Children will be drawn to and fascinated by these colour changing lights panels allowing them to explore, experiment and discover new lights and sounds. Aqua liquid motion effects come to life with a multiple colour changing effects. It’s a creative, stimulating and interactive multisensory room. It’s also great for children with speech challenges and motor control problems. Our sensory room also has the potential to support autistic children with social interaction, impairments in communication, restricted interests, repetitive behaviour and much more.

Outdoor play area

In the garden area we also have different apparatus for all the age groups to use. These equipment’s and apparatus will encourage the children to stay active and exercise. This will help their physical fitness, confidence and stronger self-esteem.

Planting and digging

This is a great way for children to learn new skills and have fun. From tending their own plants, they can learn about the science of plants, wild life, weather and the environment.

Delivering the EYFS curriculum

Staff are trained to promote a carefully planned structure for your child's day, through close monitoring of individuality and provision of ongoing activities to enhance and support your child's development to there full potential.

We aim to have confident independent, sociable children with a sound knowledge of the world around them. Children learn about the word around them from the moment they are born. The care and education offered from ourkids nursery will encourage and promote their learning.

We plan activities through child centered methods and take the lead from the child throughout the day. This is done through exploration, talking, experimenting, thinking and creation in a responsive and respectful manner.

At Our kids nursery our aim is to meet the diverse and complex needs of each child as an individual and to provide a happy walm stimulating and safe environment in which children can develop physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally, including those with special educational needs and disability.
